Does spanking "shine"?

When you see an amazing sunset in 2014...it will usually inspire you to pull out your phone and take a picture, true? Then, maybe you'll share it on Instagram or Facebook, right? You might even put an inspirational quote on it and then others will share it and "like" it, too, right? You might even use it as a book cover background...

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they will see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven...” Matt. 5:16

This desire to take pictures of beautiful things and share it is natural for us...because God made us this way. We are all like butterflies drawn to flowers when it comes to beauty...and particularly beauty that has to do with "light". We go "ooh" and "aah" when we watch fireworks or look at elaborate Christmas lighting displays. Even atheists and people of non-Christian religions will go out of their way to look at Christmas lights.

God is love...and love is beautiful and so humans are designed to love beauty and are drawn to it. We love looking at it. We love looking at it so much we take pictures to be able to look at it again and again...

So...

What do you do when you see a parent spanking their child?

Do you want to pull our your camera and take a picture to share on Facebook?

Do you see a parent spanking their child and feel that swelling in your heart, and does your mouth unconsciously open and utter "ooh" and "aah"?

The truth is obvious, if only you will allow yourself to see it. (Romans 1:18)
